Using an abstract beginning

I’ve been looking at this abstract beginning for a while and I finally saw what was there today. I just “carved” out what I see with grey. A young boy in a cap holding something in a field of flowers and a butterfly. Now to finish it without overpainting…

…but what is he holding there and what will we do with the grey sky? In any way these flowers are spectacular.

Well – it turns out he is holding a cat, the sky is no longer grey and the flowers are actually people…Thanks for making me finish “Companions” today. See my latest post for the finished piece. Cheers, Kim
